  | Mario has been very busy in the sports realm. Not only has he hit the golf links, taken on the tennis courts, ran the bases, but in 2005 he shined on the soccer field in Super Mario Strikers. This game may not be the most original take on a Mario sports game, but it sure could be the most fun. The game just flowed so well and had such a nice arcade soccer feel that I really just found myself enjoying this game. |

 | With Zelda: Twilight Princess being pushed back to 2006, Nintendo needed something else on the Gamecube to do well, and Battalion Wars did just that. This game was really a 3D version of Advanced Wars, which is a great idea. The game combines a great deal of strategy and action, to create one of the most entertaining games on the Gamecube, not only in 2005, but since the console’s invention. |

 | The game may have come in the beginning of 2005, but obviously it left a permanent mark in my brain. As at December of 2005, there is no doubt that Resident Evil 4 is still by far the best game for the Nintendo Gamecube in 2005, if not of all time. This is truly the most entertaining and well-made Resident Evil game to date, with a great story, amazing action sequences, and just the most interesting gameplay the Gamecube has ever seen. |
