Last year all of us were shocked and emotionally broken with Telltales The Walking Dead adventure game. There wasn't a dry eye left at the end of that game as we were dragged through five episodes of emotional barbed wire to a shocking conclusion that was our game of the year. And then Activision had to try and cash in on a title that was hot and crapped out Walking Dead Survival Instinct. While Robert Kirkman had previously said he didn't want a Walking Dead first person shooter, we ended up getting one anyway and wow was it disappointing. This game had a lot of potential with what it was supposed to be trying to accomplish but it was just shoved out to die like in between other big releases, but as a fan of licensed games I had no choice but to try it out at least and while it isn't completely terrible it is barely playable but I thought I would share that experience with the rest of you. So I sat down with the PC version of the game for all of you to see just how atrocious this game really is in this Darkstation Spotlight. [youtube id="37ODJhDK0cg" width="620" height="360"]
The Walking Dead Season 2 Predictions
It's been a long time since the end of Season 1 of The Walking Dead. After amazing critical success (including our very own 2012 GOTY pick) our editors decided to put their brains together and predict what to expect from the next season of The Walking Dead.
Darkstation Spotlight: Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider has been rebooted yet again and is taking the gritty more realistic approach this time around. I was really on the fence with this game up until its release and I still wasn't sure what to expect when I first booted it up. Everything about the game had pointed to the fact that it seemed very similar to Uncharted (which is really always been Tomb Raider's best comparison) but with a female protagonist.
Looking Back at Season 1 of The Walking Dead
If you haven't noticed by our reviews of The Walking Dead episodes, we here at Darkstation.com are big fans of what Telltale has done with their first season of The Walking Dead. So we got our editors to sit down at their keyboards, put away the tissues, and talk about their overall impressions with the first season. Please beware though this post contains **full spoilers** for the first season of The Walking Dead.
Jeremy's Top 5 Games of 2012
2012 has felt like a year of just biding time to me. There have been some great games this year but all I can feel is this sense of new consoles on the horizon so we have to wrap up our series and put out the last of our ideas before we all try something new. At least that’s how it’s been for me. Last year felt like one of the strongest years in the more recent history of gaming and most of the games I was anticipating for this year were pushed to 2013 but with that being said I still had a lot of fun with the games I played this year so without further ado I give you my top five games of 2012.
