Maxis and Electronic Arts have announced that a Mac version of the critically maligned SimCity will be available to download exclusively from Origin on June 11th, 2013. To make the release appealing, those who have purchased the PC version (either digitally or from retail), they will get a free copy for the Mac in order to encourage fully compatible cross-platform play. SimCity owners will find the second copy within the “My Games” section in Origin.
Meanwhile, Maxis has launched a patch for the game that sees the return of “Cheetah Mode” after it, along with other features, were disabled following the game’s disastrous day one launch. Wondering if SimCity is right for you? Check out our review.
