Overview
It is 15 years since Street Fighter arrived on home consoles back in 1988 and during that period the series has amassed global sales in excess of 27 million copies. And still today, 15 years on, Street Fighter has many loyal fans around the world. To celebrate this 15th anniversary in Japan, Capcom has held an exhibition of original artwork, released a commemorative book and various character goods.
This winter will see the release in Japan of a special anniversary Street Fighter game – the title is currently scheduled for a Spring 2004 release in Europe. This title will include all the characters who have appeared in past Street Fighter II series and will remind gamers how one on one fighting is supposed to be.
