Overview
A chapter based game where you take control of one of the real life citizens of Resident Evil's Raccoon City. Choose from a list of eight characters all with different abilities and characteristics and blaze through the various game scenarios that lay in your path. Outbreak has a new system, new character abilities, and character-specific cut-scenes and endings. Additionally Resident Evil: Outbreak supports PlayStation 2 online, so after you have played yourself out in single player mode, you can go online and experience the fear, frustration, and fun that only online team play can provide. (Please note, online capability has yet to be confirmed for PAL territories). All of this leads up to one fresh and new experience the like of which only Capcom can provide!

Resident Evil: Outbreak is set in the doomed district of Raccoon City. The story line follows on from the legendary 'biohazard' incidents that struck the once peaceful neighbourhood made famous as the backdrop in hits such as Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. - Gamers play as everyday citizens caught up in the catastrophe!
Take control of one of the ordinary people who once led a simple existence in Raccoon City. Choose from a list of 8 playable characters all with unique occupations ranging from Police Officer to Doctor to Reporter. Each character has their own abilities and characteristics so that each time you play as a different character you are really getting a totally new gameplay experience! - The ultra-intense, heart pounding virus gauge!
When you begin the game your character has already contracted the hideous bio-virus that is turning everyone into mindless zombies. It's a race against time as you try to escape the city before you end up like one of the infected masses, a lumbering flesh hungry freak. - Teamwork is key!
Cooperate with other players in order to manoeuvre through the danger that awaits you on the streets of Raccoon City. Trade items back and forth, heal injured characters, and even lend an injured player a shoulder to lean on. It's a Resident Evil game packed with so many thrills and chills you won't sleep for a week! - Each character adds their own flavour to the game!
Resident Evil: Outbreak utilises an 'adlib' chat feature where your character will say something that fits whatever circumstances they are in when you press the 'adlib' button. This can sometimes lead to a full conversation which in turn can end up in offering players key hints and clues to puzzles. In addition to this there are times when you can request different things from players by using certain key actions. - Single play
In this mode you traverse the Resident Evil World with 2 other computer controlled characters to assist you. - Network Play
Play online with various people from around your territory. Depending on the scenario you can have up to four people on your team. Feel the tension that comes from not knowing what happened to a partner that has been left behind or has disappeared. The kind of endless fun that can only be had online.
