With the extremely long lists of teams and stadiums, along with a great deal of game modes and new gameplay mechanics, this is really an extremely solid soccer package. For anyone who has not made the transition to the next generation of consoles, FIFA Soccer 07 still makes a worthwhile purchase on the Xbox.
As much as the gameplay feels smooth, the depth is there, the visuals are good, but to make this game worth a purchase this game just doesn’t feel like it has enough good to make it worth even the less expensive $29.99 price tag. If you really want a hockey game, I would say that this is only good for a roster update, and fans who want new should probably look towards the new consoles.
NASCAR 07 is still a very good game that offers up a lot of great racing experiences that for me was still an enjoyable game except for the disappointing online play. For fans of the series, I would recommend this game if you just can’t hold for next year’s game. This game has some good new features, but nothing that really revolutionizes the racing experience.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
The Chronicles of Narnia is really a hot topic in 2005 and the game unfortunately won’t be a huge part of it. This may be a good game but it comes nowhere near the magnitude of how great the book and movie is. If you loved the book or movie give this game a shot, it is cool to take the role of these beloved characters; just don’t expect an epic experience either.
Aeon Flux is another one of those games that just didn’t leave a lasting impression on me. I played the game for a good amount of time and was entertained, but not something I would rave about. If you enjoyed the movie, go check this game out in a rental. Otherwise you are probably better off just passing up on this one.
Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 3
Dance Dance Revolution: Ultramix 3 is not a huge change from what we have seen in the past, but it still contains some great improvements. If you want to see more online play, some new music, and one heck of a challenge from a DDR game, then look no further than DDR: Ultramix 3. This is one fun and challenging game that DDR fans with really enjoy.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire is, like I have said several times through this review, a capable but average action adventure game that could have been a lot better than the final product. If you are a huge Harry Potter fan, you will still find it neat to play as the trio of characters, but there just isn’t enough in this game to warrant this as anything more than a rental.
Star Wars Battlefront II
I don’t think they upgraded everything enough to take it to the next level. Should Battlefront fans go run out and buy this game? My answer is try this game as a rental first and see if you like the changes. If you do, you will have yourself a game that you will probably playing for months on in.
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Big Red One is a solid game through and through. However, fans of WWII FPS will find things to enjoy in the game, just don’t expect it to be one of the best ones out there. If you like these sorts of games, give the game a try as it is definitely worth a rental. But purchasing this game just doesn’t seem worthwhile in my opinion.
Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood
Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood is a game that truly has a great deal in common with the previous Brothers in Arms game, which is a great thing. It may not be all that revolutionary as the previous one, but it still remains one of the top FPS on the Xbox. So if you enjoyed Road to Hill 30, then you will definitely give Earned in Blood a go.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
The shooting in the game was much too difficult and the game itself just lacked any sort of story or interesting features. Fans of the anime show might find some things to enjoy, but everyone else will probably be fine just staying clear of this game, as it just doesn’t have enough to offer for even a rental.
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse
Unfortunately it is hard for me to recommend this game as anything more than a rental, simply because you can complete it in one sitting. However with that being said, this may be one of the best games you rent all year, especially if you enjoy zombies and the fifties.
