Overview

Real Bout High School: Official Soundtrack includes 40 spectacular songs from the awesome anime series of the same name.

From the very beginning, I knew I was going to have a blast reviewing this soundtrack. All of the songs warranted-- no, they DEMANDED repeat listenings, making it a joy, not a job, to review.

This is one of the best soundtracks out there. The music is very similar to the style used in video games. Every song is unique, telling a story of its own without the use of words. This soundtrack opened up a whole new world for me. I enjoyed the music in the show, but it's even better on the outside. Real Bout High School has one of the most enjoyable selections of songs that I have ever heard. The titles are simple and may mean nothing to those of you who have not seen Real Bout High School, but "Atmosphere" is an excellent, must-own song. And that's just one song. There are 39 other reasons to buy this soundtrack.

"Tears" is slow, sad and beautiful. It's the kind of song that only plays when something bad happens. But that "something bad" creates something very good. I love music, but I don't usually get into soundtracks that have songs on it that I've never heard before. Real Bout High School is the exception. "Tears" grabbed me immediately after it started playing, as did most of the other songs. Take "Atmosphere," for example. When it plays, I think of many different things, not just RBHS. I see a far off, mystical place that's filled with gorgeous trees. I also think of Dark Cloud, Zelda and other video games that rely heavily on exploration. "Champ" brings Final Fantasy to mind, especially the battles, which have a similar, up-beat theme. I am amazed by the depth and diversity of this soundtrack. Even if you're not into anime, you should definitely buy this soundtrack.
