Overview
The story is simple. Create your character and go get some jewels. Fight some evil dudes and you win. Why am I being so easy going in the describing the storyline? Well, mainly because this not a story. It's more of a quest mode or mission. This not a bad thing because it works for the game, just like it should.
Gameplay
Well, this is the part I really like about this game. Every time you start a new game everything is different, which just adds replay value to the game. Darkstone plays a lot like Diablo, but slower, and I would definitely recommend this game for the gameplay alone.
Graphics
The graphics are dated, but so is the comsole. But for the most part of Darkstone, the lighting and colors are pretty good. If I didn't know this game just came out, I would say it was released in the summer of '99 which is not bad for the most are the effects are enjoyable
Fun Factor
Now this is where the game score really goes, mostly because you get to create your own character, which I love. I mean this is fantastic. Name him, fix him and now save the world! Plus every dungeon being different everytime also makes for more fun.
Overall
Overall, Darkstone is a greatly valued game, offering solid gameplay and a good amount of replay value. I strongly recommend any one looking to squeeze some life out of their PS Ones to get themselves a copy of Darkstone. It's an investment that can't go wrong.
