Altec Lansing is really known for mostly making gaming speakers, whether for the PC or consoles, either way Altec Lansing usually only ships quality products and this holds true with the XA3051 Speakers. Here is the technical information of the speakers.

You see the technical information on the speakers, but you may be wondering how the speakers sound? From the month or two I have had these speakers I have only had good things to say about them. Everything really sounds crystal clear, even at the higher volume levels, this is definitely a nice sounding set of speakers. With 100 Watts of total power these speakers can definitely get loud.
Appearance
These speakers not only sound great but they also look just as impressive. The speakers take a sort of futuristic appearance, which is sure to impress all of your friends. Each of the five satellite speakers can be placed on the wall or on table tops, which ever is easier for you, but I did it both ways and they worked nicely both ways. What is also nice is the colors of the speakers match that of the XBOX, so for those of you who plan on using these speakers for your XBOX, they will match in colors.
Setup
Setting up these speakers can be done with a breeze. The one thing that Altec Lansing did the best with these speakers was making everything color coded. Even for those of you who haven't set up speakers before (like myself) the instructions and the color coding of the speakers make it near impossible not to be able to get the system up and running in a matter of a half an hour. Now to hook it up to your consoles you will need to purchase some special cables that could put you back another $15, but even hooking that up can be done with a breeze.
The one thing that I was really disappointed with was the controller. Now a days you do don't see many corded controllers, but the controller for the system which is corded and it's a bit annoying. This means you may want to put the Sub in a more accessible place in order to be able to change the settings of the speakers.

If you are looking for an affordable solution for 5.1 Surround Sound speakers, then the Altec Lansing XA3051 should be a great option for you. The speakers retail for $200 but if you look around I am sure you can find it for less.
