Overview
Gameplay
What makes GT2 great is the amount of cars and various tournaments available for gamers. There are virtually hundreds or cool cars from major manufacturers, ranging from Ford to Subaru. The cars handle like their real world counterparts, with all components can be customised to your preference and satisfaction.
The latest addition is the rally mode, which is a nice touch. Although it really does play well, it's not quite on par with serious rally games, like say Colin McRae Rally.
Graphics
Graphically, GT2 looks nothing short of stunning. The opening movie really says it all for the game. If you blink for a second, you could have sworn it all real footage, not CGs. The background scenery is realisticly represented and varies greatly from one track to the other. Cars show reflections to the sun and night races look absolutely great.
Fun Factor
Another great thing about GT2 is that you can choose between quick sessions and long season tournaments, both equally fun and exciting to play. With that said, GT2 caters for the occasional gamer and also serious hardcore ones, which really differentiates it from its rivals. Although the license tests are a bit hard, but once you pass them, the whole world of racing opens up, just for you.
Overall
In conclusion, Gran Turismo 2 is highly recommended for all racing fans. It's simple enough for beginners, yet provide challenge for more experienced gamers. Yet another gem from Sony.
