Overview

Features

  • Multi-storage game organizer
  • Protective internal compartment
  • Durable Rubber Handle
  • Adjustable Shoulder straps
  • Rubber corners to prevent tearing
  • Gamecube can be played right out of the bag

Appearance

From the outside, the GamePak looks no different than your ordinary EastPak or Timberland book bag. It has a solid black exterior highlighted with dark purple compartment edges. The mesh pocket on the rear of the bag and the pockets on the side appear similar to those found on any backpack. Unless you choose to litter the bag with pins, stickers, or assorted decorations to add "personality," there is simply no telling the different between it and an ordinary backpack by outside appearances. It doesn't hurt that for all practical purposes, the GamePak can in fact double as an ordinary book bag.

Use

It's obvious from the very first use that the bag was designed with Gamecube in mind, rather than just being a generic console carrying accessory. With the condition of your system being top priority, the bag features a square nylon encasement. So not only will your Gamecube be protected from the outside elements, but damaged due to objects within the bag will also be avoided. Even better is that square cutouts allow the system to be played while still in the bag, without any worry of overheating or dust buildup.

Every possible item from controllers to A/V cables that you may need to bring along have a space to be accounted for. The only problem you could encounter when trying to carry your items is that the bag really only has enough room to accommodate one standard sized DVD/Gamecube software box. But with the smaller size of Gamecube discs, carrying multiple games along with you will not be a hitch as long as you are not concerned with taking the boxes as well. There is even sufficient room for instruction manuals.

Overall

Anyone requiring a suitable backpack for carrying their Gamecube from home to school, to a Smash Bros. multiplayer and back cannot go wrong with the GamePak from LASR Accessories. With a $34.95 MSRP, it costs no more than your typical backpack, but comes with the added functionality of carrying your system and saving you from potential damage in the long run. The only way you could avoid finding some possible use for it is if weather conditions are not a consideration, and your destination already has the required accessories such as A/V cables needed to play. In that case, the Gamecube's built-in carrying handle should be sufficient. Otherwise, any "gamer on the go" can head over to lasraccessories.com to purchase one. The GamePak will also be available at a number of retail outlets by the middle of this year.
