Thankfully, there is a better way. Innovation Technologies recently released the first-ever 16MB Memory Booster, a memory card enhancer that triples the size of any standard PS2 memory card! The added space is real, uncompressed memory that saves just as efficiently as Sony's 8MB card. Files can be copied and deleted on the browser screen, so you don't have to worry about keeping a file that you don't want. The browser screen also confirms that you do in fact have 16,000KB of uncompressed memory (the other 8,000 is stored on the actual memory card, not the memory booster. Simply hit the Format/Memory button to switch between the booster and the card).
Those who are concerned about the reliability of the 16MB Memory Booster will be glad to know that it will not corrupt or delete any of your files that you already have saved on your 8MB memory card. Likewise, the files that you save on the 16MB Memory Booster are safe and secure. That alone makes it a must-buy peripheral. But when you take into account the money you'll save on additional memory cards (if you can ever find them), 16MB Memory Booster becomes a priceless item that every PS2 owner should have.
16MB Memory Booster retails for $39.99, but EBgames.com is currently selling it for only $34.99! Most people already have a memory card, but if you don't, it will only cost you $69.98 for 24 Megabytes of space! By comparison, it'd cost you $105 for three standard memory cards. With Innovation's 16MB Memory Booster, you're saving $35. The more you buy, the more you'll save.

Sony's stinginess may very well backfire on them. And it should now that 16MB Memory Booster is around. Innovation's 16MB Memory Booster is a bigger, better and cheaper alternative that's worth a lot more than it costs! Tell Sony to keep their over-priced memory cards because you don't need 'em anymore. The 16MB Memory Booster is just as durable as the official card, meaning that you don't have to worry about it breaking. I honestly cannot praise this peripheral enough. It was a lifesaver for me. Had I not gotten this card, I would've had to delete several extremely-important files on my old cards. Thank goodness for Innovation!
