Joel Szerlip - @WorldofJoel
Owner / Editor in Chief
Although my tastes have changed, and my priorities have shifted, writing and talking about video games is still one of the greatest joys of my life and I'm honored to work with this great group each and every day.
Jonathan Miley - @SpectralHunt
Jonathan is the host of the DarkCast, DarkCast Interviews, and Gamers Read. He loves books, video games, and superheroes. If he had to pick favorites, they would be Welcome to the Monkey House, Mass Effect, and Superman respectively.
Allen Kesinger - @LibrarianGMR
Sr. Managing Editor
Librarian by day, Darkstation review editor by night. I've been playing video games since the days of the Commodore 64 and I have no interest in stopping now that I've made it this far.
Brian Tyler - @LarcenousLaugh
Sr. Editor / Podcast Host
A failed comic that found his way into a vat of chemicals after the end of a long night, Bri- no, wait, that was the Joker. Rather then a life of crime, Brian has chosen to review video games instead. Yes, he questions his choice nightly.
Hiram Mojica - @R0mination
In several billion years, the universe will run out of energy. All life will be dead, all stars burned out, the universe expanded to its maximum point. An empty, uncaring, unlit nothingness which no one will be around to mourn. Until then, why don’t we have fun and play some games!
Jon Fisco - @Fisco
After reading my first bunch of game reviews in the 90s I got hooked on not just videogames but the culture that surrounds it. Since then I’ve played and enjoyed most genres but I'm a sucker for platformers, RPGs, and third-person action games. Oh, and baseball games.
Alex Mateo - @MrPanda2002
I am a lifelong gamer, having grown up with Nintendo since I was young. My favorite genres are platformers, RPGs, and adventure games. My passion for gaming led to one of the greatest moments of my life, my video game themed wedding!
Jonathan Paris - @jparis09_
Writer for Darkstation since 2014. I've been playing games my whole life and starting writing about them in 2010. Outside of gaming I also enjoy anime and watching my Philadelphia Eagles let me down every NFL season.
Grady Penna - @grady_penna
Based in San Francisco. When I'm not getting lost in expansive open-world RPGs, immersive first-person shooters or any other type of game that grabs my interest, I usually spend my time taking photos and playing music. Two of my all-time favorite games are Persona 4 Golden and Metal Gear Solid 3.
I'm a Finnish video game enthusiast who was introduced to gaming in the early 80's. What I appreciate the most in games is depth, whether in their gameplay or atmosphere. While not playing, I'm usually drawing at my art board.
James is a classical composer and an avid student of history and philosophy. His favorite films include The Room and basically anything with Nicolas Cage, which means he should never be put in charge of movie night.
Most of my time is dedicated to tearing apart games and movies, then telling you what I think about it. I've been a gamer since birth, practically born with a controller in my hand. I've always spoken my mind, so critique was a natural fit.
Video game nut and general media aficionado. I enjoy many different game genres, but my favorite is the 3D platformer. I listen to punk rock and metal when driving.
I'm a piano/guitar instructor, I have a black belt in Taekwondo. I'm missing half of my pancreas, I have a soft spot for JRPG's, I'm a recovering Destiny addict, and I'm still waiting on a Xenosaga HD Collection.
Two things have always enamoured me: history and video games. Gaming is the most exciting entertainment medium in the world, and I take pleasure in dissecting their narratives and gameplay.
