Shuttle X1 Gaming PC Review

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been testing out the Shuttle X1 Gaming PC, an ultra compact gaming PC that packs a lot of power in a small footprint. The big question in my mind was, what am I giving up with this smaller form factor? And the good news is not much.

Logitech G433 Gaming Headset Review

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to review the Logitech G933 a headset that I really enjoyed albeit it’s steep $200 price tag. Today I’m back to tell you about my experience with the latest Logitech headset I’ve had the chance to test out that’s half the price.

Turtle Beach Elite Pro Headset Review

I have something of a fascination with gaming headsets. I’ve lived in an apartment or attached townhouse for the last decade. The idea of having a giant surround sound system just hasn’t been practical. I’ve been on the search for a headset to use for the majority of my gaming. Today, I’m reviewing the Turtle Beach Elite Pro Headset, one of Turtle Beach’s latest forays into the high-end gaming headset market.

Jump: The Indie PC Gaming Service Review

Jump could be the first legitimately useful on-demand video gaming service.  You can quickly get into a wide variety of games with little more than a short wait upon the startup of each gaming session.  It will not be an all-encompassing service on which you can play Destiny 2, but it doesn’t advertise itself as such.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset Review

Today though I’m talking about the HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset, one of the latest HyperX gaming headsets that retails for $50. Is this the best deal in gaming headsets or is there a reason for the low price tag? Well I’ve spent the last two weeks testing the Cloud Stinger out and am ready to tell you what I found.

NVIDIA Shield TV Pro Review

The battle for your living room is one of the most competitive landscapes in tech. Whether you're going with a $30 Chromecast or $500 Xbox One X, there's a huge battle for what will become your primary consumption device in the living room. Today though we’re going to be looking at another entry into that market that’s got a unique take. It’s the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro and its a hybrid of a traditional TV streaming device as well as a gaming platform.

Luminoodle Bias Lighting Review

Last year I made the upgrade from a six-year-old HD LCD to a 4K LED TV. I went with a 65” Samsung KS8000 that I’ve loved quite a bit. I, of course, wish there was more 4K content out there but when I have it, the set looks great. In the last couple of weeks, I was asked if I wanted to review the Luminoodle Bias Lighting, backlighting that you put on your TV to help with eye strain. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and am here to tell you what I think.

Bionik Mantis Headphones

I’ve been on the lookout to improve the audio of my Playstation VR experience and could not be more impressed with the Bionik Mantis headphones. Although the quality is not going to compete with a top-tier gaming headphones (it also isn't priced too), its ease of use and beautiful design make up for that in a big way. I attached this headset a couple of weeks ago to my Playstation VR and don’t plan on taking them off anytime soon.

Thrustmaster 350P 7.1 Powered Ghost Recon Wildlands Edition

I’m always on the hunt for my next pair of headphones. Just as visuals in games improve, so too does sound design. I was just recently scrolling through Spotify and I came across the soundtrack to the recently release Horizon: Zero Dawn. An hour later I just realized that I could just have easily spent the time listening to a full movie score.

The Controller People - Custom Playstation 4 Controller Review

Even though the colors were not my choice I was pretty blown away by the quality of the craftsmanship. My real only gripe was the click sticks that both looked and performed poorly. They did nothing to enhance my experience and I’d advise against ordering them. Otherwise, if you’re in the market for a custom Dual Shock 4 controller, this may be a great option.

Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset Review

In the many years I’ve been writing about the video game industry I’ve had the opportunity to test and use a multitude of audio devices meant to enhance the gaming experience. More often than not these devices tend to just be slight improvements over using an inexpensive pair of earbuds or headphones. Over the last couple of weeks I had the opportunity to test out the Logitech G9333 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset a futuristic looking pair of over-the-ear headphones that can be used wired or wirelessly with consoles and PC.  And I have to say I was left impressed.

Nintendo Switch Review

At the end of my two weeks of testing I’m relatively impressed with the Nintendo Switch. The console feels like a smarter, more well thought out console design in comparison to its Wii U predecessor. Although not as straightforward as the Nintendo Wii was for general audiences, I do believe that after a small learning curve the functionality of the Nintendo Switch is both evident and useful.

PlayStation VR Headset Review

If you’re alright with being an early adopter and not having the most streamlined experience I think there is enough to enjoy out there now to warrant the purchase. If nothing else you will be among the first to experience what I consider a new and exciting frontier for video games.
