Darkstation's Game of the Year 2018 - Part 2

Yesterday we posted our picks for best Sports, RPG, Shooter, Action, Strategy, Platformer, and Racing game of 2018. Today we’re here with a couple more awards before tomorrow where we announce the official Darkstation Game of the Year. But before we get there our editors pick the best graphics, our most disappointing game, and our most anticipated game of 2019.

Mark's Top 5 Games of 2018

Although it didn’t quite hit as many high notes as 2017, this year’s standouts were as awesome as they come. Maybe it was just the luck of the draw, but so many of the smaller/indie games I reviewed this past year were disappointingly derivative. That said, there were quite a few mid-level games from established developers that impressed me.

Brandyn's Top 5 Games of 2018

After a bevy of amazing releases last year, one might be forgiven for thinking that 2018 wouldn’t possibly compare. And yet, it has proven to be immensely difficult to choose five games to represent a “best of” list for 2018. In retrospect, this year feels as though it truly had something for everyone. Featuring addicting multiplayer games and immersive, evocative single-player experiences on both the indie and AAA front, 2018 provided us with releases that both represent this console generation at its best and give us a glimpse towards the future.

Jonathan P's Top 5 Games of 2018

With next generation consoles seemingly on the horizon, this year and next may very well be the final years of current generational games. 2018 started off very strong with titles such as Monster Hunter: World, Detroit: Become Human, and God of War, and finished just as strong with Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4. It’s always hard to make top 5 list because there are so many great games out there, but I’ve finally managed to choose my top 5 games of 2018.

Sam's Top 5 Games of 2018

I was not ready for the bombardment of masterpieces to come our way this year. 2018 has been a year to remember for game releases, with many of these titles I’m going to mention now being placed in my top games of all time. I am so impressed and so happy with how far the creative industry has come, and I can’t wait to continue to be a part of it as we move forward in the coming years.

Gregory's Top 5 Games of 2018

As always, these types of lists are pretty subjective and, for me at least, are usually highly influenced by what I actually got to play this year (for example, I'm still in the middle of Dragon Quest 11 and oh man, is that a fun game so far), but still, doing these types of articles is good fun, so let's get into it!
