Action Adventure

Judgment Review

Judgment is an absolute roller coaster of an experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend. It’s an intense investigative adventure full of drama, action, and heart. If this is the direction where the Yakuza series is headed to, I have high hopes for the future.

A Plague Tale: Innocence Review

The way the narrative and gameplay fit together to make Amicia and Hugo’s journey both compelling and emotional is an impressive accomplishment that put A Plague Tale up there with the best of them. If you are in the market for a somber, story-driven experience, I cannot recommend A Plague Tale enough.

Killer7 Review

Killer7 is a work of art that surprised many in the past. Now that it’s been remastered for the PC, a lot of new players and old fans alike can finally experience the game in gorgeous high definition. Personally, the game has always been a landmark title to me that set a creative standard that has yet to be topped.

Darksiders III Review

When viewed against the other two games in the series, Darksiders III is a complete disappointment. The gameplay is harder than it needs to be and does no favors. It’s also half-broken in a lot of places, lacks polish, and its stability is questionable at best.

There’s a chance that Trine: Enchanted Edition for the Nintendo Switch will be the first time playing the game for many, and they’ll find a fun and creative action adventure with puzzle elements, whether they’re by themselves or with friends.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review

Hot off the heels of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft brings its stealth, action-adventure series to the captivating world of ancient Greece with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This latest installment enhances its predecessor’s RPG elements and offers players more agency in developing the main character. In fact, choice is one of the game’s core highlights. You are able to alter fate and influence numerous outcomes through dialogue choices and key decisions.

Death's Gambit Review

Given the popularity of From Software's Souls series, it's no surprise to see yet another 2D game come along and give the formula a shot, and that's exactly what we have with Death's Gambit from White Rabbit games. While it may wear its inspiration on its sleeve, does the game strike that sweet spot between frustrating and rewarding, or is this one gambit that's not going to pay off?

Cuphead Review

It is surprising then to see a video game in 2017, an era marked by companies vying to create the “world’s most powerful console,” forgo intense photorealism for muted colors and film scratches (then again, it’s not uncommon for indie titles to employ striking art styles). Cuphead, developed by Studio MDHR Studios, exists on a whole other level as a lovingly crafted homage to an animation pioneer.
