Battlefield V Review

Not quite sound and fury signifying and not quite the reinvention that fans hoped (or feared) it would be, Battlefield V rumbles and churns onto our PCs and consoles, leaving the smell of cordite in its wake. Although it will probably satisfy devotees of the series, Battlefield V is also curiously incomplete, like a painting not quite filled in, and the coming months may ultimately determine if the game is a must-play classic.

Star Wars Battlefront II Review

Star Wars Battlefront II improves on the original with more maps and Heroes. It isn’t a shooter for everybody, but it’s a must-have for fans. Indeed, the Force is strong with this one.

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is an admirable attempt to make a niche concept work.  Unfortunately, it so intently focuses on avoiding the pitfalls of the previous game that it stumbles into a hole of its own.  This reboot doesn’t feel like a second attempt at making the formula work, but rather an alternate game that runs parallel to the original.  Ultimately, Catalyst offers something that no other game does, but like its predecessor, it feels like it could have been much more.

Card Hunter

I love this game. It absolutely harkens back to my own time as a tabletop gamer, with both D&D and CCGs, and its story treats those memories like they're a treasure, rather than a punchline. Will you enjoy it as much if you don't have those memories to draw on? Well, if you like fun, and can stomach learning something new, then I don't see how you get out of this without having at least a little. It may not grab everyone the way it has me, but then it doesn't have to for you to see its charm. And hell, it's.. mostly free. So you have no excuse.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter

It’s fitting that so much of Medal of Honor Warfighter’s script is composed of military acronyms, given that the entire game is shorthand for designs and concepts that have been done in other, overwhelmingly better military shooters. Warfighter is uninspired, underdeveloped, and completely profligate with the solemn potential of its core concept.

Battlefield 3

It is by no means a bad experience, it is certainly fun, but I’m beginning to think that we’re close to seeing the end of singleplayer war campaigns because, frankly, there’s not much you can do differently at this point. I see myself going back often to multiplayer, not just for level progression, but because they are so chaotic, unpredictable and they last a good long while. I also like flying jets!

Mirror's Edge

There are very few issues and none really take away from the overall experience in any significant way. In the end Mirrors Edge, is a fantastic game, and a really great addition to any gamers’ library.
