The Escapists: Complete Edition (Switch) Review

Overall, The Escapists is not a game that I particularly enjoyed, but at the same time I didn’t dislike it either. It was a decent time, but that fun was rather short-lived. The game suffers from a lack of explanation and there's no real indication on what you can actually do. The depth is there, but only if you're willing to do and try every combination of actions and items over and over.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V is everything you'd expect in a Rockstar product and once again, they have managed to significantly outdo themselves.

Sleeping Dogs

Whether you are singing karaoke or smashing in gangsters faces Sleeping Dogs is one hell of a time. It’s been a little while since there’s been a big open world game and even with Sleeping Dogs crazy development cycle the game delivers a unique combat experience and fun story.

Dead Island

Dead Island is one of the most ambitious games I have seen in a long time and while I didn’t have any high expectations for this game it managed to blow me away and provide hours of fun from start to finish. Lately it could be said that there is an oversaturation of zombies in games and that it is getting a little tiring but Dead Island proves that killing zombies can still be fun and unique and is a must play for any fan of the zombie horror genre.

Mafia II

It took me a while even after I finished Mafia 2 to realize how much I really enjoyed the entire experience. It doesn’t happen often that I remember certain scenes or actions in a video game that resonate with me after I finish it but Mafia 2 has moments where it is truly spectacular and for that I would say it’s worth checking out.

Mafia II

Red Dead Redemption

However, I can say without any hesitation that the game that Rockstar put out this year in Red Dead Redemption has done for the Wild West genre in video games what Mario did for platformers. The whole Wild West has been a huge missed opportunity for the video game industry, until now where we finally have a game that has put the Wild West back on the map.

Just Cause 2

It encourages exploration and focuses on destruction and chaos above all else. The game works so well on all levels that it overcomes the smaller flaws, and makes them seem just like minor hiccups. If you are even remotely interested in sandbox titles then this game is for you, I could not recommend it more.

Just Cause 2

The Godfather II

On the other hand you have a very enjoyable experience that is set in one of the most popular movie franchises of all time where you get to relive some of the most memorable moments from that said franchise. The game has its faults but when it is all said and done if you really enjoy The Godfather you are going to find a lot to enjoy in The Godfather II.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

The final product of GTA: Vice City Stories on the PS2 feels to me to much like a port than a solid console title. Also when you have the original Vice City and San Andreas offering up more elaborate sandbox experiences, it makes this game a bit tougher to sell. But if you have not played the handheld version, this title can be a decent choice to complete your GTA library.

Just Cause

I had high hopes for Just Cause, mainly because it looked like it had the potential to be one of the mid-year next generation stand outs. While the final product looks great, unfortunately it’s more of the case of more flash than substance, as the gameplay is nowhere as next-gen as it needed to be.

The Godfather

The gameplay doesn’t improve enough to make it worthwhile for gamers who have already checked out the game, to go on the 360 and take it for another run. If you haven’t yet checked the game out and own a 360, then I would highly recommend going out and checking out The Godfather as it is an extremely fun and enjoyable experience that deserves a look at.
