Sonic Mania Review

Sonic Mania is a wonderful celebration of what's made Sonic so great in the past while also striving to push it forward. This isn't to say it's perfect – it has some of the problems of the previous games as well – but it's such a perfect encapsulation of old Sonic games, it's impressive.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

It's really a shame that such obvious and ostensibly easy-to-fix bugs are out there right now, because without them, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is an excellent entry into a monopolized subgenre that does things differently enough to be well worth a look.

Sonic Generations

It’s really disappointing then that the final third of the game is extraordinarily frustrating and poorly designed, especially when compared with how excellent the rest of the game really is.

Sonic Rivals

In the end, Sonic Rivals is a game that has a lot of potential but it unfortunately doesn’t manage to capitalize on this. Sonic Rivals is a game that you will find some enjoyment in playing, but it just doesn’t have that depth to make you want to continue playing it for long periods of time. The game looks great, but the gameplay just doesn’t have enough to bring it to a level that keeps it enjoyable for extended periods of time.

Sonic The Hedgehog

This is one of those games that you just wonder how it made it onto store shelves with the load of problems and shortcomings that it possesses. In the end, Sonic the Hedgehog is a game that I wouldn’t recommend to even the biggest of fans.

Shadow the Hedgehog

I don’t usually give many game’s scores at this level, but when you are dealing with such a high profile series like Sonic, you really need to come out at the top of your game. Unfortunately the first outing for Shadow the Hedgehog was not as successful as I would have hoped, and we were left with a game that I would say everyone is better off just passing up.

Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut

When you hear the name Sonic you are normally going to expect to find a pretty solid gaming experience. Well unfortunately the game ends up being quite disappointing and it is one I really can’t recommend. There are too many problems plaguing the game right from the get go and then more problems to follow. If you are looking for a good Sonic title to play either wait for the coming ones on the Cube or dust off that Genesis and throw in Sonic 1-3.
