Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Review

If you love Spyro, and like what you see and hear of the game, then there'll be no catches to disappoint you. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a blast from the past, with an amazing and impressive passion put into bringing the games back, better than ever.

Flat Heroes Review

Flat Heroes is a fun little game that is absolutely suited to the portable nature of the Switch. It's perfect for micro play sessions and quick seamless multiplayer games if you can get past the entry barrier of an incredibly simplistic presentation.

Semblance Review

Semblance is a game full of excellent and satisfying puzzles, marred only by some odd jankiness and a final level that doesn’t focus on the strengths of what had come before. While short, the experience was overall enjoyable, and a fun take on the idea of a world that can be deformed on your way to finishing a puzzle.

Another World Review

The game was on a whole new visual level the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe didn’t reach. With it’s strong emphasis on creating a cinematic experience, a minimalist plot, and frustrating difficulty, it was like nothing I had ever played or seen before.

Toki Tori Review

The original Toki Tori was released on the Gameboy Color way back in 2001. Since then it has been ported, enhanced, and remade a half dozen or so times across a wide variety of consoles and system generations. After all these years, the game makes its debut on the Nintendo Switch. Besides a slick new coat of graphical paint and control modifications, it remains almost entirely the same. In this case that is a good thing since Toki Tori was always a darn good puzzle game.

Knack 2 Review

If you're like everyone else and are not caught up on your Knack lore, that's okay. There's this race of evil Goblins that want to take over the world and you need to jump, punch, and solve your way to victory. Knack does this while accumulating and shedding his body pieces, called relics, to grow and shrink as needed. It's tech-demo-y, sure, but it actually makes for a fairly unique experience.

Yooka-Laylee Review

If Playtonic Games can produce a sequel that eliminates the problems and expands upon the strengths, we may yet get a true masterpiece. What we have for now is, at the end of the day, a good game.

Rise & Shine Review

Trying to get through a level is a daunting experience, and I found myself rage quitting more and more. In the end, I made the decision to stop playing because my time is more valuable than slamming my head against a brick wall of a game. Your mileage may vary, of course, though be aware that Rise & Shine hides an unforgiving game underneath its gorgeous exterior.
