ARK: Survival Evolved (Switch) Review

ARK: Survival Evolved is a solid survival adventure with unique mechanics, an intriguing mystery and lore, and plenty of years of development in its past to show for it. However, there are just too many issues on the Switch version right now to enjoy it to its fullest.

Smoke and Sacrifice Review

Playing as Sachi, the game starts off quick yet powerful, introducing us to a world that is initially small, confined and knowingly vague. It allows you to quickly empathize with Sachi’s view of the world. You feel for her as she arrives home to her son, Lio, and carries him tearfully to the nearby temple.

State of Decay 2 Review

How do you think you’ll handle a zombie apocalypse? Will you see the march of the undead as an opportunity to take advantage of a lawless, broken society? Will you find compassion in the human spirit and work together with other survivors to keep calm and carry on? Go alone or find safety in numbers? Whatever the choice, you’ll get the chance to test your mettle against the zombie menace in State of Decay 2.

Island Time Review

Island Time, a PSVR game developed by Flight School, is not the idyllic island getaway I had expected. Instead of swinging lazily in a hammock while beautiful island girls feed me fruit, this virtual island adventure is a constant struggle for survival. Trapped on a small island with no rescue in sight, it’s up to you to craft tools to make your own meals in this inventive, good-humored VR experience.

Hello Neighbor Review

Hello Neighbor taps into a childhood moment one or more of us might have experienced while living in the suburbs. There was always at least one house that for some inexplicable reason emanated a mysterious and creepy vibe that led the neighborhood kids to come up with all sorts of wild, baseless stories: “That’s Old Man Smithers’ place where they say he killed his wife.”

The Solus Project Review

The Solus Project kind of feels like No Man’s Sky without starships. The survival aspect is more robust and requires full attention to different health systems. The game could use a bit more polish in places but overall, The Solus Project is a pretty solid adventure that left me feeling surprised with how it hooks into at certain moments.
