MLB 10: The Show
I originally didn’t think this was possible, but now I am convinced and excited to see what they have in store for us next year because I have a feeling it will be quite good. If you are a baseball fan or just a fan of great games then you should definitely consider picking up this title for your PSP.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3
The graphics are the only thing that really are above average, and that is a real shame because the SOCOM series deserves to be continued in a worthwhile way, and this just isn’t. If you are a fan of the series on the PSP then you should definitely pick it up because it is more of the same, but if not then stay away.
I haven’t been able to say this all that often with PSP titles, but LocoRoco 2 is really a great game. If you enjoyed the first, or are interested in getting into the series, then I would highly recommend checking this game out. Plus you can’t beat the $20 price point, that is some serious bang for your buck.
WipEout Pulse impressed me in a lot of ways. The gameplay itself has been improved over Pure, and manages to give a bit better balance with weapons, the racing seems to be worked out nicely, and the modes are fantastic. If you’re a fan of the fast paced racing then WipEout Pulse is a must have for your PSP.
Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
This isn’t a huge leap forward, it is more of a gracious step forward that offers enough to keep the game at status quo. This game doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it just improves the wheel to last longer and perform better. If you were a fan of the first make sure to check this one out as well, if not there are probably other fish in the sea.
PaRappa The Rapper
The final verdict on Parappa the Rapper for the PSP is that it is still a very good game just far too short and far too basic. It is unfortunate that Sony wasn’t able to do more with this classic game, to take it to the next level. Unfortunately I would say for anyone even interested in this game, renting is your best option it - is the perfect amount of time with this title.
Chili Con Carnage
In the end, Chili Con Carnage may confuse you with its name. Heck it may even confuse you with it’s premise, but one thing it won’t confuse you with is it’s goal, and that is to be a simple all out action game with very little care in the world. If you like over the top action, there is no reason you won’t like Chili Con Carnage for the PSP.
The biggest factor behind The Warriors’ success has to be the retail price point of $19.99, which is as good of a price as ever for this game. Taking that into account, I could see someone arguing the point that this is a game was worthy of a full price point. With that being said, The Warriors is a great action brawler that would make any PSP owner a great bargain game.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus
In the end, Portable Ops is one of the best games the PSP has seen thus far. In fact, this is really the type of game that the PSP needs to start seeing more of because these are the type of games that drove fans to the Playstation 2, and can do the same for the lagging PSP. MGS: Portable Ops is just a great action/stealth title that should not be missed.
In the end, Sonic Rivals is a game that has a lot of potential but it unfortunately doesn’t manage to capitalize on this. Sonic Rivals is a game that you will find some enjoyment in playing, but it just doesn’t have that depth to make you want to continue playing it for long periods of time. The game looks great, but the gameplay just doesn’t have enough to bring it to a level that keeps it enjoyable for extended periods of time.
Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2
Once again although there have been some great improvements to this game, it is unfortunate to once again get an experience that still needs work to make it to be a worthwhile purchase. Although fans of the series have probably already gone out and purchased the game, for those who haven’t always loved the series, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 isn’t going to help change your mind.
