Don’t waste the money on this incredibly inferior product when the better one is just a few mouse clicks away (to purchase Syberia from Good Old Games, please visit their product page).
Jet Car Stunts
Jet Car Stunts is not a bad game. The visuals, while a little sparse and bland on a big screen, are still crisp and vibrant. The gameplay, while loose, can be very enjoyable. The biggest problem (glitches and camera problems notwithstanding) is that it seems like the wrong game was remade. JCS would be a fine game if a far superior version hadn’t already existed since 2013. It’s a shame that JCS2 wasn’t remade or its improvements and expansions somehow included in the remake. As it stands, Jet Car Stunts is a slightly glitchy port of a mediocre game.
Ultra Street Fighter IV
With new characters, stages, modes, and careful tweaking of the entire roster, Ultra Street Fighter IV is without a doubt, the definitive version of Street Fighter IV. It provides a plethora of new content and a staggering amount of detail, all for the modest price of $15. Its greatest feat, however, is that everything culminates into a package that casual fans will enjoy and fighting game enthusiasts will appreciate. For anyone who has enjoyed the Street Fighter IV series, Ultra is most certainly a must-buy.
Batman: Arkham Origins: Cold, Cold Heart DLC
A classic Batman story in some less then stellar trappings, Cold, Cold Heart is worth your time if you are in the mood for more of the Dark Knight. Depending on your feelings towards Origins's quirks and flat out gameplay failures, this may or may not be an immediate purchase. However, like the main game itself, there is enough here in the way of charm and set pieces to enjoy, even if the overall package leaves you yearning for something more.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a numbered Metal Gear game and while this isn’t the full Metal Gear Solid V we are waiting for, it is definitely enough to hold us over until then. Kojima spared no expense and gave us a small little introduction to what will surely be a mind blowing total package and really the only complaint here is that it is small and only leaves you wanting more. Despite its size there is plenty of Kojima weirdness and Easter eggs packaged into this amazing stealth action experience. If you haven’t been a Metal Gear fan up until this point this may not turn you around but I highly recommend that everyone should check this out, and even on the PS3 you won’t be disappointed.
The Last of Us: Left Behind
Left Behind is a symbolic statement in as many ways as it is a physical one. It highlights Ellie Unsure and Ellie Triumphant, show us darkness while giving us hope with the smallest shafts of light. It is loss, heartbreak, harrowing sadness, but more then anything, it's a deeper look at a character that refuses to leave herself behind, no matter what hardships lie in front of her. Left Behind is how story DLC should be done.
Farming Simulator 2013
There are 42 fields in this game (over 97 hectares!) and you can own them all if you play your cards right. Approached with the right mind-set, a little planning and a lot of patience, Farming Simulator 2013 offers a true evergreen challenge for the console gamer looking for a new experience.
Girl fight is a difficult game to recommend. It’s clear to see where the developers were drawing their inspiration, however they have succeeded only in creating a game which emulates the bigger budget titles on a very basic level. Whilst it functions as expected for a fighting game, it does so without any of the charm of the more established franchises, relying heavily on a graphical sheen which does not stand up to scrutiny and does little to hide a multitude of sins.
Magrunner: Dark Pulse
Above niggles aside, this is a game definitely worth adding to your collection. Combining elements of 3D physics-based puzzle solving with a well-established gothic horror narrative, Magrunner presents unique and addictive challenges. As a crowd funded, budget title, this is a genuine contender for Indie Game of The Year; it really is that good.
With lackluster looks and a lame story serving as ballast, the combat would have to be spot on perfect to carry this game out of mediocrity. It's good, far and away the best part of the game, with the scoring system adding challenge, thought and tension to the proceedings, but it's not enough to push this into “must have” status. To end with an appropriate pun, this Final Exam passes... but just barely.
